We offer consultancy services direct to farmers, the food supply chain and industry professionals, including the annual TotalDairy Seminar, an industry leading technical event. Evidence Group also run Barbican Animal Health, a dairy feed product company offering bespoke formulations to improve animal health. Account Manager

Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: Competitive (depending on experience)
Hours: 45 hours per week

To help meet a growing demand for work in the Food Supply Chain area of the business, Map of Ag are looking to recruit an Account Manager. The role will be based at their Penrith office, but will involve travel to meet clients and industry stakeholders.

The day to day activities this role will involve include:

  • Day to day communication with clients, including gathering requirements, regular discussions on delivery progress, and attending review meetings
  • Project management of client veterinary & data project, working with internal veterinary, data and administrative colleagues to deliver projects in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Engaging farmers where required on client requirements, for example issues relating to welfare standard compliance or data submission protocols
  • Liaising with client’s stakeholders to maintain relationships and ensure all parties are fully engaged on project delivery and outcomes
  • Working with internal data colleagues to ensure clients have access to data insights through easy to use, informative online analytics reports
  • Working with internal veterinary colleagues to respond to ad hoc client requests or questions, ensuring appropriate recommendations are made
  • Identifying areas for potential business development or opportunities for new projects with existing clients to generate extra revenue

Key Skills

  • Experience within the agriculture sector is essential

Systems Operator & Data Analyst

Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: £25,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week

To help meet a growing client base, Map of Ag are recruiting a Systems Operator & Data Analyst. The role is to support on managing client projects, analyse farm data and build analytics reporting for farmers and clients. The role will be based at their Penrith office, but may occasionally involve travel to other Map of Ag offices within the UK.

The day to day activities this role will involve include:

  • Manipulating datasets gathered from various sources using Microsoft Excel
  • Designing and creating reports to summarise datasets gathered using Microsoft Excel
  • Producing interactive analytics reports using Microsoft Power BI, in order to provide easy insight into large datasets for colleagues & clients
  • Administering the in-house data collection platform. This would include setting up & developing data collection surveys and reating & administering reports
  • Analysing the datasets collected to respond to specific queries from colleagues & clients
  • Supporting the Account Management team to ensure they have information & reports available to share with clients as required

Key Skills

The following skills would be required for this role:

  • Experience with advanced features and formulas in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Experience with statistical & data analysis would be desirable but not essential as full training will be provided

Office Administrator

Location: Penrith, Cumbria
Salary: £17,000 - £20,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week

To help meet a growing demand for Map of Ag's services, we are looking to recruit an Office Administrator. The role will be based at their Penrith office.

The day to day activities this role will involve include:

  • Answering phone calls, mainly from farmers about their customer requirements relating to data submission or welfare standards
  • Communicating with relevant parties via phone and email, for example requesting information from farms, arranging vet visits or responding to questions from farms' practicing vets
  • Processing farm visit reports carried out by veterinary colleagues, ensuring protocols are followed correctly and the report is high quality before being sent to farmers
  • Completing data quality checking on the online farm database, following up with farmers where required to resolve issues
  • Carrying out data entry inputting occasionally, to ensure all data is captured on the online farm database
  • Liaising with internal veterinary, account management and IT colleagues to ensure any queries coming into the office are responded to in a timely manner

Full Stack Web App Developer

Map of Ag are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Full Stack Developer. The role will involve the development of frontend web applications and the implementation of the backend APIs to drive them. As part of the team, you will have a crucial role in evolving our products and processes involved in developing them to ensure they meet the needs of our customers and users globally.

You will be involved in:

  • Implementing new features and products
  • Developing solutions that are scalable and configurable to meet our growing customer needs
  • Translating user stories and wireframes into high-quality products across the backend and frontend

Required Technical Skills

  • Experience developing bespoke web applications; we primarily use PHP7 in the backend and AngularJS in the frontend - we’re planning an upgrade and you would play a key part
  • Proficient in writing SOLID, Object Orientated code
  • Experience implementing APIs and integrating with 3rd party services
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with relational databases including MySQL
  • Passion for writing clean, modular, reusable and maintainable code

Desirable Technical Skills

  • Comfortable with code versioning tools and code reviews; we use Git & BitBucket
  • Familiarity with package management and automated builds; e.g. Composer, Gulp etc.
  • Proficient in writing SOLID, Object Orientated code

Basic Skills

  • Good communication skills and excellent command of English

Location
